Difficulty: | ★★★★★ |
Enemy Management: | ★★★☆☆ |
Clue-getting: | ★★★★★ |
Encounter protection: | ★★☆☆☆ |
Survivability: | ★★★☆☆ |
Economy: | ★★★☆☆ |
Card Drawing: | ★★★★☆ |
Main Strategy:
-
Eldritch Sophist takes a charge from The Red Clock (2) to maintain it at 3 charges for an additional action (2 with the upgraded version) and transfers it to Divination to use it every turn.
-
The Raven Quill's Interwoven Ink activates when you use Divination and readies Double, Double for a second use each turn.
-
Crystallizer of Dreams doubles each event's use by also committing it to skill tests.
The double Double, Double engine:
-
Attach The Raven Quill to Divination. On every use, Interwoven Ink allows you to ready an asset you control once a turn.
-
Note that you ready an asset even if the test fails and that you can investigate an empty location.
-
Of course, Double, Double is the main target, but Eldritch Sophist or Damning Testimony are also very good if you do not have any good events to play.
-
Living Quill allows you to use Divination without creating AoO, so you can effectively play it any turn even if there is an enemy engaged with you, and the icing on the cake, that will trigger Trish's ability.
-
-
The Red Clock (5) creates a charge every turn that can then be transferred to Divination with the Eldritch Sophist for at least one use per turn.
- Leaving The Red Clock at 1 charge will help succeed your first test, which is great, but boy, keeping it at 3 charges is an additional action (2 with the 5xp) per turn on top of all the rest!
Double your events once, twice, then Double another time your event by committing them from the Crystallizer of Dreams:
Doubling your events:
-
"I'll take that!" plays 2 Items and free. It will only attach to one of the 2 targets (though it has no importance here)
-
Bizarre Diagnosis will heal 6 damage to your party
-
Breaking and Entering (2) will give you 2 chances to succeed by 3 or more. If any of the 2 tests succeed by 3 or more, it will return to your hand. Note that you can use it to evade an enemy not engaged with you.
-
Captivating Discovery will resolve fully first, shuffle your deck and then a second time for better chances of finding these exceptional cards and make the combo run asap.
-
Crack the Case makes big profits.
-
Easy Mark will play the second copy as a reaction to the first one.
-
Eavesdrop will get a lot of clues, which is especially good after dropping some with Bizarre Diagnosis and Captivating Discovery.
-
Kicking the Hornet's Nest can pop 2 enemies, and then you can ready and use Double, Double again on Breaking and Entering (2) to evade the 2 of them.
-
Logical Reasoning is a bit expensive but heals 4 horror.
-
Working a Hunch to turn the excess of resource into doubled clues.
-
Preposterous Sketches and its 0 cost doubles wonderfully for 6 cards in one action!
-
Seeking Answers gets you 4 clues with the flexibility of choosing any connecting location and potentially triggers Trish's ability if there is an enemy somewhere. This is a perfect way to exhaust a hunter enemy that would move and attack.
Commit from the Crystallizer of Dreams:
With the Crystallizer of Dreams, you can store the events that do not attach ("I'll take that!" and The Raven Quill) to boost your tests.
-
Almost every event in this deck commits for at least 1 .
-
Bizarre Diagnosis and Working a Hunch commit for 2
-
Seeking Answers for 2
-
Logical Reasoning for 2 .
-
Finally In the Shadows helps with 2 on top of the agility.
-
-
The Guardian of the Crystallizer may seem like an annoyance at first until you realise that it is going to be a moving enemy target for Damning Testimony and Trish's ability.
Note: Do not forget to commit the events on the Crystallizer of Dreams before your deck runs out of cards and reshuffles. Otherwise, they'll be stuck for another round.
Alternatively, you can use this to thin your deck. For instance, store Crack the Case if you already have enough resources to see your more impactful events faster.
Other Cards:
-
Damning Testimony is amazing in Trish on many aspects:
-
With Blackmail, you are investigating at 6 without any further support. Don't forget that you only spend an _Evidence if you succeed and you do not need to spend an Evidence to do a simple investigation with it (it still exhausts, a bit like a Lockpicks)
-
Using an Evidence to investigate another location with an enemy can trigger Trish's ability at a distance, resulting in 3 clues: one at your location and 2 at the enemy's location.
-
-
Magnifying Glass is the cheapest and fastest way to get an additional that will also help with Breaking and Entering (2), Damning Testimony and Divination, but unfortunately not with Eavesdrop.
-
"I'll take that!" will help mostly with playing the expensive Damning Testimony.
-
If you are running this deck through a campaign, you don't need Interwoven Ink until you got some other cards, so you can let the The Raven Quill upgrade itself automatically to save 4xp.
-
Never use Divination when the only card in your hand is Crystallizer of Dreams, The Red Clock or Double, Double, because you may lose it if you succeed by 0.

Jan 06, 2023Nice deck! I've just gone through a Trish build recently as well, and how this one is using the Crystallizer of Dreams is really informative. This, and the recent 20k decks are weakening my resolve to not pick up The Scarlet Keys investigator expansion just yet :) a celebration of the 20k points on ArkhamDB Also wanted to say, congratulations. The build creativity and narrative walkthrough of your decks have been outstanding, and part of what makes this game a great hobby. |
Jan 06, 2023I love discovering new synergies in your decks! I wonder if Grim Memoir might be a better choice for the starter deck, instead of Divination. Works great with The Raven Quill, doesn't exhaust, costs the same but is 0 xp. |

Jan 08, 2023Amazing as always! I think Grim Memoir is cool but The Raven Quill can have only one Tome/Spell named and there's no way to get that upgrade to get two more and move to Divination later. Ofc Grim Memoir works well with Eldritch Sophist until clock is added and then you could even add it to the starter deck instead of using Adaptable. All that said when The Red Clock comes in, charges would be wasted (I think you can move them to cards without any uses anyways but they will not do anything ofc). Also it takes your hand slot as well and Divination takes up your free arcane one. All that said with Double, Double and Truth from Fiction (plus 3 for your Crystallizer of Dreams) I can see it as more than enough to get you through whole scenario. Another point is that while there's not much soak, Logical Reasoning/Bizarre Diagnosis will be enough to get heal going so there's an option for Charon's Obol from start! |
Jan 08, 2023I don't always comment but decks but read and like/fav them all, really great work and new ideas ! :) Thx and congrats on the 20K (!!!), fellow french :p We'll use this deck in our next TSK run. |
Jan 09, 2023It requires more set up but not too long ago i ran trish through tfa using Eldritch Sophist, The Red Clock and Pendant of the Queen. The deck used extra draw and Mr. "Rook" (tabood cuz still counted as a level 0 card) so im not sure if you could just replace Divination without other support, but it synergizes with trish's ability and plays as powerful as it sounds. By the end i was able to get the peices together by turn 4. Again, im not sure Double, Double and the draw events are enough to support it but i think its at least worth consideration |
Jan 09, 2023Nevermind my last comment, i missed the point of the raven quill interaction |
Jan 17, 2023Great deck as always! I've noticed that almost all your events were either 'trick' or 'insight' traited and I was wondering if including a single copy of Crafty would be a good idea or would it just be a win-more card? |
Apr 17, 2023Very interesting deck. I don't really understand what the use of adaptable is in fascilitating it. Could you please explain? I'm relatively new to the game. I didn't even know you can get 3 myriad cards at once with one experience. |

Apr 17, 2023I mean, I just re-read the deck, I think we were just really unlucky with the draws :p |
Aug 26, 2024And another really, really fun deck. I’ve been playing this partnered with your Blursed Kohaku, it’s been a blast. Thanks for all the content you’ve produced here! |
Oct 06, 2024I don't think I fully understand how Crystalizer of Dreams works. I understand how an Event card attached under it could use its skill icons in a test like the author here has under the Passing Your Test section above. What I don't get is the doubling of events in the "Doubling Your Events section. In the Skill Test Timing sequence in the rules there are a couple of Free Trigger Player Windows. A few of the Events in the deck can take advantage of that. Check. But what about something like Bizarre Diagnosis just as an example from this deck? It isn't a free trigger and seems to have nothing to do with a skill check. So how would Crystalizer of Dreams allow that event to be used again in a skill test? Not yet clicking for me. Thanks! |
Oct 06, 2024Hey What I mean here is that by committing this event to a test after using it, via Crystallizer of Dreams, you use it another time, hence "doubling" it. So Bizarre Diagnosis can be used, doubled with Double, Double, and then committed via Crystallizer of Dreams for , resulting in 3 total uses of the event. Does that make sense? |

Nov 03, 2024I don't get it. How can you use Raven Quill, which applies to tomes and spells, to Double, Double, which is neither (it's a ritual) or to Crystalizer of Dreams, which is also neither (it's a relic) ? |
Nov 04, 2024PS: I had forgotten to put your name. :p |

I'd like to think my comment on last week's deck made this happen, no matter if it's true or not :). Other than that, a fabulous deck as always! Will definitely try this one out
