As usual with Ursula, the thing is to stay on move as often as you can. Playing solo suits well to this investigator because you generally have 1 clue in one place, so that you can move and investigate 2 times each in one turn ; no one can do such thing in this game (and it's very strong, specially in solo play). So our goal with this deck is to start a race again the act deck, gather the maximum clues and pass to the next step.

The no upgrades core deck

  • Fieldwork and Shortcut work fine with Ursula capacity.
  • Dr. Elli Horowitz is the best sidekick : relic tutor, free play and free slot.
  • Unearth the ancients (which works with Ursula capacity) is here to help when you will be broke and without emergency cache in hand.
  • Vantage Point is a pretty useful card which allow to leave a place and collect a missing token later in the game. Plus, combo with Fieldwork if you manage to plan a particular test in a particular location (escape a monster for example).
  • The rest of the poolcards is very classic. No need of Deduction because you play solo. The Chthonian Stone is here to help you stabilise the chaos bag but it's not so helpful. The truth is you always have better option to play for 3 resources.

the upgrades core deck

- First : Charon's Obol is your xp booster. On the other hand you need to know exactly scenarios if you don't want to die stupidly. Obol will help you to buy Charisma and, later, Key of Ys which will take the spot of Fieldwork.

- Then : Pathfinder > Shortcut

At least, when you have Obol + pathfinder, you can focus on building the deck core :

As it's a kind of race between you and the deck, I had to make some choices in order to play movement/investigation. As it is, plaiyng this deck, will let you in danger against enemies. Most of the cases you will have to run like hell (with the help of Eureka! and Trench Coat ). If you are cornered, use "I've got a plan!". Disc of Itzamna is here to discard the potentially very painful enemies of a scenario (the hunters, all the byakees, etc.).

Hemispheric Map can be funny to play and quickly profitable (2 resources and 2 locations connected) whereas Elder Sign Amulet needs bigger investment, for more or less the same result.

Jewel of Aureolus is a good surprise for me. Once on the table it's the guarantee to have 3 resources or draw one at almost each turn.
