Introduction

Daisy Walker and Agnes Baker are an unlikely duo, but despite the party's lopsided health and sanity, they can swiftly rip through locations and monsters alike and live to tell the tale. Daisy is the clue aficionado as always, along with a suite of support cards to keep Agnes killing monsters.

Required Sets: Revised Core Set

Agnes's Deck.

Strengths

Clue Gathering. Obviously. It's Daisy! After Dr. Milan Christopher and Magnifying Glass you're investigating with 7 , and Deduction and Working a Hunch make you gather clues even quicker. Not to mention that you'll be rolling in resources.

Filling up Hands. Old Book of Lore is incredible. If you get it in your opening hand, neither you nor Agnes will run out of cards for the rest of the game.

Her Weakness. The Necronomicon is not devastating, if a bit annoying. If it comes late in the game, just disregard it and do your thing!

Weaknesses

Fighting. Daisy cannot do squat about monsters except run away. With a neat Mind over Matter play sometimes you can do something, but not with any consistency.

Her Character Card. Daisy's Tote Bag isn't worth the two resources. Commit it to a test.

Gameplay

Opening Hand and Turn One. You're looking for two things: Dr. Milan Christopher and Old Book of Lore. Keep only these two cards and Research Librarian to get the Old Book of Lore. If you only get one of Dr. Milan Christopher or Old Book of Lore/Research Librarian, play it turn one. If you have the Doctor and the Book, I would play Dr. Milan Christopher first and investigate for the resources. If you have the Doctor and the Librarian, start with Research Librarian to get Old Book of Lore, then play Dr. Milan Christopher when you have enough resources.

Tomes. To get maximum value from Daisy, you have to have tomes out, preferably Old Book of Lore. However, don't feel like you need to have more than one. Her extra action is only once a turn, so why waste hands? Medical Texts is okay in a pinch or if you can't find anything else, but definitely not optimal.

Running Away. This isn't actually that hard, between Manual Dexterity and Hyperawareness, which you'll have plenty of resources for if you get out Doc Milan. Please, run away if you get stuck with something scary.

Mind over Matter. Treasure this card. It is your get of a pickle free card. It's always nice to see.

What is Out

cards. Agnes plays most of these better. The only real option is Arcane Studies, but running away from monsters is typically more useful than making sure you pass the occasional test.

Yeah, I'm pretty much playing every card so there isn't much else to talk about. It works though, I promise!

Adds. Encyclopedia is nice for guaranteeing the party passes a test when they need to. Seeking Answers is another great and flexible card for getting two clues for one action. Disc of Itzamna is great on scenarios with lots of monsters that to get in Daisy's face (I can think of one in Night of the Zealot). To top it out, Cryptic Research is always a nice boost to keep everyone's hand healthy. I didn't get it any earlier because I think that drawing that many cards is redundant when Old Book of Lore usually did the trick.

Cuts. Having more than 4 tomes in the deck leads to tome overload, so I cut a Medical Texts. Guts and Knife really shouldn't have ever been in the deck, but there are limited options in the core set. Magnifying Glass can be nice, but 6 is usually enough to get through locations.

My Upgraded Deck.

Why not add these cards?

A second Encyclopedia. I like having a Medical Texts in my deck for disasters, and makes me draw less of the other stuff I want.

Old Book of Lore. The good part of Old Book of Lore is that it gets you extra cards, and we don't really need it to let us play them for cheaper. It isn't worth the experience.

Bulletproof Vest. Daisy usually doesn't have issues with taking damage in my experience because Agnes takes them away. I like putting my experience elsewhere.

Conclusion

All things considered, these two were a fun little duo to mess around with. Give them a shot, they might surprise you. Have fun taking horror!
