Deck Concept

This is a deck full of combos and it is extremely versatile and fun to play. The deck is targeting Normal difficulty as you tend to take most tests at a skill value of 6 or 7.

It primarily is targeted towards getting clues, but also can do fine with enemies due to Power Word.

Ghastly Possession + Divination (4) = Three bonus charges
Astronomical Atlas + Ghastly Possession = Even more value
Power Word is a spell, so you can use your bonus action to trigger it.

Elle Rubash is used to get your bonus action without any risk of messing up the doom clock. She can be used with several targets:

Dowsing Rod for a 6 Intellect investigation
Baron Samedi to make him easier to take care of
Arcane Initiate to allow you to play them at any point
Use with your elder sign to put doom on Divination to get +1 skill value

It is missing a few key cards, but with Arcane Research and Delve Too Deep you can quickly get it online.

It starts with 4 trauma, which is a lot, but the deck has lots of healing -- particularly once you get Power Word with Mercy. Soothing Melody is a spell so Arcane Initiate can find it which makes them hit much more frequently. If concerned, I would likely remove In the Thick of It and only take the two mental trauma.

Keep in mind that Arcane Research XP can be used for Power Word and it doesn't have to be complete abilities

Uncage the Soul (3) is great with Divination (4)
Enraptured is my least favorite card in the deck.
Alter Fate
There is an open Arcane slot, so possible to insert any other spell asset you want

Power Word notes

Cower does not disengage the enemy, so for non-massive you can drag them around with you in your threat area
Go mostly only gets used for Massive enemies
Mercy is extremely good for secondary trigger with Tonguetwister
Tonguetwister is a better early upgrade than Thrice Spoken
Overall, this depends a lot upon the enemies present in the scenario (Cultists are annoying for example). It does work with weakness enemies though. For example, Watcher from Another Dimension is a great enemy to Power Word

I'm not sure I'd waste Elle's skill bonus on the Baron though, but in a pinch, I suppose its not the worst thing. Overall, looks like a very nice Power Word/doom deck.

Occasionally useful to keep around if you haven’t gotten a Dowsing Rod yet to ensure you have a doom immediately after agenda advances for bonus action. The extra damage risk isn’t a big deal if you have setup the Power Word Mercy crowd.

I'm not sure I'd waste Elle's skill bonus on the Baron though, but in a pinch, I suppose its not the worst thing.

@TastyToast I would agree generally on Baron + Elle, except for two reasons:

Allowing you to clear on short doom agendas, such as a 4 doom agenda.
Occasionally useful to keep around if you haven’t gotten a Dowsing Rod yet to ensure you have a doom immediately after agenda advances for bonus action. The extra damage risk isn’t a big deal if you have setup the Power Word Mercy crowd.
