Sample Starter Decks from Fantasy Flight Player Resources

Ursula Downs is a swift investigator who is great at forging ahead and investigating locations. Her high intellect and agility allow her to escape dangerous situations while continuing to gather clues at a steady pace.

Since Ursula’s ability allows her to investigate immediately after moving, Ursula excels at exploring new locations. Don’t be afraid to venture into unknown areas, especially if you have your partner, Jake Williams, in play. Don’t forget that you can use Ursula’s ability along with a card with a bold “Investigate” designator, such as Flashlight or Unearth the Ancients.

While Tooth of Eztli and The Chthonian Stone are the only Relic assets in this starter deck, there are several more Relic assets you can include in your deck once you earn some experience. Disc of Itzamna is an ideal choice, since it allows Ursula to deal with enemies without having to rely on her low combat value. Or, try including an Ancient Stone...who knows what it might become later?

Although Ursula is good at evading enemies, she struggles against high evade hunter enemies and enemies who must be defeated to advance the act. In these situations, a well-timed Knife, Barricade, or Mind over Matter might do the trick, so save these cards for when you need them most!

One of my favorite investigators. Love the explorer/seeker theme and there are a lot of cards that synergize with that theme.

My favorite relic for Ursula is the Ornate Bow combined with the Otherworldly Compass. This gives Dr. Elli Horowitz one thing to carry to fight enemies and one thing to get clues. Ideally Elli finds the bow though since it occupies both hands.

Disc of Itzamna is also a great card also but I would replace Tooth of Eztli so the accessory slot is uncontested for her. It is another item that Elli can find though and at least put something into play.

Hello there! Ursula is one of the strongest seekers out there with an exceptional special ability. As @TWWaterfalls stated, the Ornate Bow is instaby for her. Also bear in mind to team up with an investagator who has access to Guardian card pool and get him the Venturer for the combo supply - strike. We play for the fourth time the full circle of Forgotten Age (one success - three failures :) ) and for the first time we added Otherworldly Compass in her deck. Imo, this card is really tricky and very situationally depending the scenario. You have to know the scenario excellent in order to add this card to your deck. In Forgotten Age circle is perfect because you will have at least -2 from the connecting locations but in other scenarios like Circle Undone is a no - no. The same card is more or less the Hemispheric Map

Also, another question that I am not sure If I can answer it is if relics is a trap for Ursula. There are TONS of great relics such as Grotesque Statue, Lucky Dice and The Skeleton Key so I don't know if the deck should focus on them rather the seeker cards.

My additions in this list are x2 Shortcut which later you should upgrade them with x2 Pathfinder and perhaps leave Research Librarian and Medical Texts for x2 Fingerprint Kit . Also one of my favourite seeker card is Mr. "Rook" so I would change two copies instead Knife and Old Book of Lore

Yes, the Otherworldly Compass isn't perfect but they have done a good job to make each Seeker clue getting tool useful but not overpowered. I include in Ursula's deck just so Elli will find a cluegetting tool to carry and then Ursula isn't as affected by losing both hand slots to carry the bow. It should (some rare exceptions) always be a -1 shroud.

The Skeleton Key is the one relic that I want to add to the deck. They almost made it overpowered (haven't played it yet) but they made it exceptional so that you need to search your deck (easy for Seeker's) to find it. I am concerned that it will be slow to use since you need to attach and detach it from each location though. This also balances out its power and probably makes it mostly viable in 3-4 player games. I will definitely play it when I pick up the final FA mythos next month.

There is one other relic that I really want to play but I have no plans to add Dreameaters this year. Crystallizer of Dreams looks like it would be awesome for Ursula.

My favorite clue getting combo with Ursula's deck is Arcane Insight. It gives a -2 shroud reduction (limited uses) and occupies the Arcane slot which is otherwise unused. More importantly it stacks with other investigating tools. This card is one example where getting the Ornate Bow with early XP sets Ursula back for getting clues. She can now take care of herself but she will get clues a little slower.

I also love Pathfinder. No brainer upgrade for any seeker.
