  • Q: When playing Testing Sprint, do I stop investigating when I fail one time, or when I finish succeeding or failing to investigate each eligible location? A: The former. If you fail one investigate test before you’ve investigated each eligible location, you do not continue investigating other locations. (Official FAQ v2.5, February 2026)

I want to be happy that someone maybe found a use case for Ace Of Rods, but mostly I'm outraged at the thought of someone Time Warp-ing a Testing Sprint. BTW you have to take basic Investigate tests since Testing Sprint has the bold Investigate keyword on it. — Pseudo Nymh · 74
I'd include Vantage Point as a synergy here - Dream-Gate normally doesn't have clues on it so that first Testing Sprint investigation would be wasted. Vantage Point fixes that. — TheNameWasTaken · 3

You can totally Black Market a Will to Survive in this combo. The net effect is kinda meh, it's a janky Deciphered Reality, suffering all the same problems Deciphered Reality has. — suika · 9635

What if you draw Detached from Reality during one of the investigation tests? Does the Testing Sprint just stop? Can you test the "new" Dream Gate again if you didn't test a 7 shroud location yet? — WarriorR · 32
Disregard my last comment, of course is the play action a basic action. @WarriorR: As I read it you would test the new Dream Gate as your last eligable location, then it stops. I think you might be right about the shroud, though. — AlderSign · 477

I want to add one thing to this review and it is a "build a deck around it combo" so I give fair warning BUT.

Luke is more broken with this then we thought...Grotesque statue (2), Written in the stars, Alyssa Graham, and Enraptured, encyclopedia, add in double magnifying glasses (1) and Backpack (2)...

10exp, and a full auto clear of the map, as Luke would be testing 5 with enraptured + Alyssa and any hand slot makes him hit 7 assuming 4 shroud is the highest (almost always the case) if grotesque is out he literally cannot fail.

oh Luke...

added deck build map the area, eureka for tutor, practice makes perfect for tutor, astounding revelations to thin your deck, whitton greene for tutor, call in a favour for tutor, quantum flux for a second go at enraptured on top of deck if you end of with them in hand, and finally analysis for another option instead of enraptured and grotesque.

Deciphered Reality would let you finish the process with just one test, but making multiple tests means you can benefit from the Written in the Stars combo better. Imagine doing that with Deduction(2)! — TheNameWasTaken · 3
