Healing through Blessings
Do you like free stuff?
Do you like testless clues?
Do you like being blessed by the almighty?
Do you like unlimited healing?
Then let me warmly welcome you to Carolin Fern's "Psychiatric Office for the Frightened Investigator". The Doctor will see you shortly.
Introduction
This deck is built around the simple idea to create an unlimited engine for Carolyn Fern's Ability. You only need to earn 9 experience to be ready to go. This deck's engine will not only provide free resources, but also free clues in the process.
Main Engine
This deck functions super easily:
-
Use Field Agent (2) and deal it 1 Horror to discover 1 Clue
-
Use Spirit of Humanity (2) to take 1 Damage and 1 Horror to add 2 to the bag
-
Use The Key of Solomon (4) to remove 1 and heal 1 Damage and 1 Horror from Field Agent (2) or from yourself
-
Get a resource using your Ability
Proft:
For 1 Horror, which can be healed for free next round because Spirit of Humanity (2) provides 2 while The Key of Solomon (4) only uses 1 , and withourt spending any we received
- 1 Resource
- 1 testless Clue
- 1
This sequence can be used every turn without a risk. With your remaining 3 (!) you can do whatever you want.
Additional Cards
The Investigation Package
- Magnifying Glass and Mouse Mask are used to boost our for basic investigations
- Perception helps with high shroud values and card draw
The Consistency Package
- Research Librarian will find our The Key of Solomon (4)
- Calling in Favors is used to find Research Librarian or Field Agent (2)
- Deep Knowledge and Thorough Inquiry are used to find our combo pieces
The Enemy Management Package
- "I've got a plan!" let's us fight with our
- Toe to Toe provides testless damage
The Rest of the Deck
- Hallowed Mirror gives us access to Soothing Melody to heal Field Agent (2)
- Inspiring Presence let's us use Field Agent (2) twice in a turn
- Task Force is nice action compression for our team. The addtional does not bother us
- Read the Signs is just too good of a card to not include it in a Cluever-Deck

Oct 25, 2025Hi At the end of the day, there are so many good possibilities that choosing cards is a matter of personal preference. Personally, I like Task Force and Deep Knowledge, as both can help the team. The curses of Deep Knowledge can also be removed with The Key of Solomon (4). I also really like your suggestions with Leadership (2) and Stand Together (3)! Since the core cards cost little experience, there is still plenty of room to expand and improve the deck. |
Oct 26, 2025Remarkably few assets for Fern, good job! |
Nov 02, 2025This looks very fun. A good team support and competitive clue tech means this version of Carolyn at least has some great ideas. Thank you for sharing. |
Nov 08, 2025I think having Book of Psalms makes more sense with Task Force. Later, we can add Soul Sanctification, so extra healing won't be wasted. |
The idea is nice, probably one of the strongest Carolyn's builds. The choice of events might be different, though. I don't like Task Force here since there are no assets you can activate, so you effectively spend 2 resources and 2 actions for a basic action and a thing you could do with a basic action (since your is around 5-6 in the middle of a scenario). Deep Knowledge is the one I personally dislike because, for the price of its effect, it might ruin 2 future skill checks with curses. I think you have more than enough draw without it. I also think the deck might have a slightly weak resource economy, so I'd put Stand Together or Leadership here. Toe to Toe is an interesting choice I never thought of for Carolyn, but it's very reasonable and absolutely worthy. And sadly, there is no place for synergies that Carolyn truly loves. Anyways, thank you for your thoughts, and I might use this deck as an inspiration in the future!
