- The goal: take 0 non-Mythos tests over an entire campaign.
- The result: I took, perhaps, 10-15 tests over 8 scenarios.
That's a success in my book.
An absolute hoot.
My deck is based on nitrous-acrostic's deck, but I removed anything that did any direct damage or clueing (passive damage from Dynamite Blast and Vicious Blow for example): I wanted my Carson to help, but only by helping the others help themselves.
I found I didn't need as much soak as the original deck especially with the inclusion of "I've had worse…".
Task Force was an exceptional work-horse for this deck. When this synergises properly with other investigators, it's as if they have an entire extra turn. Since this deck has so much card draw, it was common to be playing Task Force 3-4 times a scenario.
To anyone who is reluctant to play Carson, because it feels like he's an investigator that gives up his actions for others, you must give him a go. Turn the ability around in your head. Think of it as: "Choose another investigator at your location. YOU immediately take an action as if YOU were that investigator". With that mental modification, suddenly you're a puppet master powerhouse. He's amazing because it makes Arkham Horror even more of a team game.
- My 0XP deck is here.
- The final 53XP deck is here (we were playing the rather XP-generous Cyclopean Foundations fan-made campaign. I did end up including Agency Backupin the deck because I had nothing else to spend my XP on!)
