A fun deck idea I started using with some friends. The deck started off with the idea of having 6 dogs out at a time to fight for me and evolved into how much damage return can you get? how many 'fight' actions do you actually need to take as a fighter? Once fully upgraded and everything on the field you just have 30 health 26 sanity + your base 8 - 6!

Upgrade Path

The Star -- if you are going to have 7 allies on the field + your armor, this one card is + 8 health +8 sanity best and most important upgrade to get right away. (Worth In the Thick of It)

Guard Dog x2 -- The free engage actions, extra health + sanity, these upgrades and the star turns your 3-1 dogs into 5-3!

Rod of Animalism -- More space for more dogs

Easy Mark -- more money more card draw to get too your dogs!

Survival Knife x2 -- Upgraded knives attack before the enemies if any survive your return damage and dog attacks!

Stand Together x2 -- More money more card draw! Find them dogs!

Upgrade Hunter's Armor -- At minimum between Refine upgrades and xp you can spare, get the return damage +2 health +2 sanity at minimum! This makes you super tanky and more return damage!

Minor Upgrades

Everything else in the side deck are just minor upgrades i've thought about if you have upgraded everything and still have xp left over. You can throw some xp into Honed Instinct as well, I don't see much point in buffing it.

Your cards you are most likely to replace early on is: Backpack, 2x Emergency Cache, 2x Motivational Speech, 2x Unexpected Courage

Remove Refine once you pass mission 4 or 5 (its not worth keeping past this point)

Mulligan's

You should only look to be keeping Mitch, Rod of Animalism, Star and any card draw

Early in Campaign hold onto anything above, guard dogs and refine (getting refine done turn one on mission 1 or 2 is easy xp before things go south)

I like the idea!

/gen Have you thought about Lonnie Ritter to heal the damage from your Hunter's Armor and Kerosene to heal the horror from your Guard Dog? Together they'd make a nice combo!

Also, now that you have all of these actions free how about a The Skeleton Key if you're in a big group or Damning Testimony with Blackmail if you're in a smaller group, to do your share of clues?

Thanks again for sharing your deck :)
