For Doovies "La Bella Luna" challenge:
- You are tasked with playing either The House Always Wins or Return to the House Always Wins on Standard Difficulty.
- You are also tasked with completing Resolution 2 WITHOUT using the Resign Action on the Back Alley Location. You MUST use the Resign Action on the La Bella Luna Location.

So... it's all about speed, and who is faster than Skids? (Well, Rita, maybe?)
Let's not bother with weapons - most of the enemies will be aloof for most of the time. We don't even need that much for investigating - we can cheat like a champion in the card room.
Therefore, we need resources, and we need actions, both of which Skids excels at. Elusive - for all it's taboo - is the fast route back to the restaurant. Ace in the Hole - actions! Swift Reflexes - more actions! Quick Thinking Actions from Actions (hopefully). Leo De Luca - for old timey actions!
Then we've got Lone Wolf, Hot Streak, "Watch this!" and Emergency Cache for resources.
The Plan
Mulligan hard for Hot Streak and Leo De Luca. Get in, cheat, and run like hell. Avoid combat. Save On the Lam for Agenda 2, if it comes up. Same with Elusive

Aug 20, 2019Great deck! Hope it was up to the test. Great thing about this challenge is opening up my mind to different uses for cards in different and unusual circumstances. Quick Thinking does wonders testing those Parley tests in the VIP room. Swift reflexes for Agenda 2 evades, and Elusive for making this challenge a cake walk haha. |
Aug 22, 2019I did end up making changes from this - I have an updated deck at arkhamdb.com . Lone Wolf was pretty good, actually. I did manage to get it down early, though, and the icon is useful. However, Another Day, Another Dollar was much more useful than Hot Streak/Emergency Cache (both of which take actions, and could be buried at the bottom). I only took 1, though, as I wanted Charisma so I could keep Leo De Luca when I grabbed Morgan. Pay Day was really useful, too. Paying 2 to get 7 after Ace in the Hole using Skid's ability - nice. And I know people don't like On the Lam, but when you need it, when you're just trying to push on, it is awesome. I ran through the challenge 3 times; the first I thought I succeeded, until I realised that I would have lost Leo when I grabbed Morgan. The next 2 were straight successes. I even got out on foot (no Elusive for me!) |
I don't think Lone Wolf is worth it for the challenge, it's a bit too slow in accumulating value and setting up, every action has worth here. How about grabbing another 10xp and doing "Another Day, Another Dollar" for increased consistency and less setup requirement? Maybe even 2, and then grabbing Leo1 and some other shiny toy? 1 ADAD basically guarantees you 1 free action, so 6 xp for 2 stable Skids activations over the course of the run.
