I used this deck for my blind Carcosa run, solo-two handed with Daisy Walker.
Built as a fighter with a couple of opions for clue gathering that also felt right with the theme (Gravedigger's Shovel and Mysterious Raven), although probably not the strongest options if going for pure optimization.
Knowing how strong (but expensive) the other deck was going to be, I added extra economy with Stand Together and Schoffner's Catalogue (which seems also just better with William's special ability).
In terms of upgrades, I initially relied a lot on my allies: hence key priorities have been purchasing Charisma. and upgrading Guard Dog and Beat Cop, while also later replacing the Raven with Jessica Hyde.
Brute provided a needed push during during mid-campaign scenarios. However, I felt that the biggest turn in the deck was to purchase Timeworn Brand, a real game changer with late scenario monsters, especially when coupled with upgraded .18 Derringer. Bandages worked very well with the dog and cop (and William's ability).
Some of the key upgrades had been Safeguard, which really helped on action compressions and the bodyguard spirit of the deck.
I have added some Mythos protection cards as well like Tennessee Sour Mash and Alter Fate that have been at times useful.
A couple of upgrades that have not really shined were A Chance Encounter (never used) and Ace of Swords (despite hard mulligan, I could not find in the last 2 scenarios I had it, and found having already enough bonus strength to make it worth the 3 cost).
Last scenario I considered a few Exile cards and ended up with A Test of Will.
