This deck is made with a focus on combat, evasion, utility, and manipulation of enemy position.

Use both arcane and hand slots to deal damage to the enemy. Wicket Athame recharges the arcane spells as well as dealing the odd damage here and there.

Mists of R'lyeh, Obfuscation, and Runic Axe's "Hunt" combos with Open Gate: The former allows you to slip away through the open gate after you evade, which won't allow them to follow you (through the gate). With the latters you can lead engaged enemies into the open gate into a position less problematic. Of course Ethereal Slip does something similar by itself. They all work together in a way that - hopefully - allows for some neat emergent gameplay. Also you can use banish.

Open Gate of course also allows your teammates more mobility. Astral Travel is meant to help you place the gates at optimal places. Note that you need to place the gates both in a way that allows you to get rid of unwanted enemies and to help your team move around.

"In the thick of it" is meant to give you Banish right out of the gate (althought you should probably use Sacrifice instead). You still have 1 experience left, which you can save or use on Runic Axe's "Hairloom" upgrade, which will make it more affordable.

If I could put Mysterious Raven in this deck, I would.

Just wondering, are you planning on picking up Occult Reliquary? If not, I'm having trouble telling how you plan on holding both Wicked Athame and Runic Axe.

Very good point. For some reason I thought Runic Axe was 1 handed. Thank you!
