I decided to go for William as my first Survivor investigator experience and I have to say that I am loving every minute of it. Since I started playing Arkham, my favourite aspect of the game was fighting monsters using unique techniques and William does all that and more. This deck was built for the Return to the Path to Carcosa in 2-player mode. My friend was playing Luke Anderson so I decided to go with an investigator that is not just good at fighting but can always recycle his items and use them as much as possible.

The interesting thing about this deck is the combination of Geared Up and backpack which allowed at certain times to have as much as six items ready on my first go especially if I was lucky enough to get the Schoeffner's Catalogue. Once my items were out, William becomes practically invincible. With bandages and the cherished keepsake, I was cancelling damage and soaking horror and getting them back from the graveyard each time I kill any monster. Furthermore, using the combination of Jury-Rig, Resourceful and Act of Desperation gave me the edge over the hardest monsters to fight.

Furthermore, having Tennessee Sour Mash was a cherry on top; use it as protection against treachery cards, discard it to get the +3 fight and then return it to play as soon as a monster is killed.

I have to say this is the most fun I have ever had playing Arkham and for the first time since I started playing, I am no longer afraid of failing any test.
